Half Term 2022

Seconds stretched into minutes, minutes dragged into hours, and the hours hung motionless. The ´duh-dung´ of Netflix echoed from across the hall as boredom reared its ugly head… again. The thought of the ominous red N didn´t deliver the tingles as it did in 2020. ¨What will I do all week?¨ I contemplated as what I expected to be the worst Half Term ever loomed. 

The usual fresh breath from a week off school has now grown into stale yawn. 

If only creative ideas and energies could be summoned…

Then I realized a Creative Writing course was to be underway that would nourish my appetite for interaction and creativity. Yes, I will write my own short story, discover abilities I never knew existed, and even make some new friends.

At last, a light shines on the thought of the nearing Half Term.

Come join us as we generate creative energies and funnel them into beautifully engaging language skills that will make Half Term 2022 a story worth telling.

This short yet sweet Creative Writing course will help students develop their creativity and produce their own short story. Each class will focus on a different skill, practiced in class and applied in their own story writing.

The Zoom classes can be attended independently (without parental support) as long as students have basic typing skills and the use of a laptop/PC or device with a keyboard.

Class 1 Sensory Vocabulary – Using your Senses to Write

Class 2 Ordinary is Dull – Using creative ways to express everyday ideas

Class 3 Show not Tell - The tested approach to descriptive writing
