A Creative Writing special course to accompany the War through Children´s Eyes Creative Writing competition.

The course will help students to learn about ongoing difficulties children face around the world. Students will be asked to empathize and develop compassion for other children by writing a story/essay/diary to help readers understand the necessity to end war and violence.

The final writings will be submitted to the UK-wide competition!

50% of all course costs will be donated to the War Child cause that the creative writing competition is supporting. Any donations above and beyond (or without even enrolling in the course) are always welcome.

Narmina's War Through Children's Eyes Creative Competition

WAR THROUGH CHILDREN’S EYES is a creative competition open to all children resident in the UK and aged between 7 and 17. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the impact of wars and violent conflicts on the communities caught up in them, and particularly on the most vulnerable members of those communities: their children.

Our mission is to teach a greater understanding of the appalling effects of war and violent conflicts on families and communities, and the plight of the refugees that such conflicts inevitably produce. We aim to create a platform where young people in the United Kingdom can learn tolerance and sensitivity towards children whose lives have been made unsafe, wherever in the world they may have come from, and to inspire them to find ways to help those in great need. This year’s competition is the first of its kind; we hope to hold it annually from this year forward. We want to build War Through Childrens’ Eyes into a stage from which children can stand and speak to all of us, reaching out hands to one another and telling the stories of those children who do not yet have a voice.
