  1. Transformations of functions. We will revise how to determine whether a given transformation is an example of translation, scaling, rotation, or reflection. After the lesson you will be able to manipulate functions so that they are translated vertically and horizontally, stretch or shrink.

  2. Pascal’s triangle and the binomial theorem. If we want to raise a binomial expression to a power higher than 2 (for example if we want to find (x+1)^7 ) it is very cumbersome to do this by repeatedly multiplying x +1 by itself. In this lesson you will learn how a triangular pattern of numbers, known as Pascal’s triangle, can be used to obtain the required result very quickly.

  3. Trigonometry, sine/cosine/tan graphs, trigonometric identities. We will revise trigonometry is one of the most important and prominent topics to learn. Trigonometry is basically the study of triangles. The terms ‘Trigon’ means triangle and ‘metry’ means measurement. We will revise trigonometric graphs, prove trigonometric identities and see how they are used to solve various trigonometry problems.

  4. Coordinate geometry. You will revise how to find the length of a line (segment), the midpoint of a line (segment), how to determine if the lines are parallel or perpendicular, the equation of a straight line and a circle. You will revise how to find the centre and radius from any form of the equation of a circle.

  5. Vectors, movement, derivatives. You will revise what they are and how they are connected. We will look at a number of simple rules which can be used to allow us to differentiate many functions easily.
